Adventures in Coding and 3D Design: The Story of Our Week at Haruki Robotics Camp

Updated: Aug 11, 2023

Hi parents,

We've finally reaching the end of our Haruki Robotics Summer Camp, and we can't help but share the amazing progress your children made! We've been diving into the fascinating world of coding, designing an arcade version of Super Mario Bros, and learning 3D design on Tinkercad. The team—Kasey, Ashley, Jacqueline, and Samantha—has shown a keen interest in incorporating a black-pink theme into their designs, showcasing their creative flair.

Meet the Team

Kasey has assumed the role of team captain, steering the group with well-defined directives. Her boundless energy can occasionally cause diversions, but on the whole, she maintains outstanding leadership and coordination.

Entering the digital realm for the first time, Ashley has exhibited admirable patience. She's progressing at her own rhythm, showing inventiveness by borrowing ideas from her peers' designs. Ashley can sometimes lag behind, eager to emulate others' tasks. Although Kasey might not always lend a hand, Samantha steps in to assist her.

Samantha and Jacqueline have distinguished themselves as coding prodigies. Jacqueline leverages her computer proficiency to swiftly complete tasks, whilst Samantha's concentrated approach and readiness to aid others significantly enhances the group's productivity.

The team constantly generates ideas to enhance the game's aesthetics according to their unique styles, infusing the room with an energetic creative spirit. Game design, an art form in its own right, is their canvas. Their animated discussions sometimes amplify the room's volume, but they consistently meet their daily objectives, reflecting their commitment and discipline.

Play Their Games

We're thrilled to share that the games created by our talented team are now live on our website! We invite you to have a look at their creations and even play them on any device. Here are the links:

Day 4-5: Diving into 3D Design

Name Tag

Today, our talented young coders at the Haruki Robotics Summer Camp embarked on an exciting new journey into 3D design. Their first project was to create their own personalized name tags. Despite it being their first time experimenting with 3D modeling tools, they did an outstanding job.

The girls demonstrated remarkable adaptability, quickly grasping the key principles of 3D design and applying them with creativity. Kasey and Jacqueline were particularly impressive, displaying an intuitive understanding of the design software. Their name tags were not only imaginative but also technically well-crafted.

This is only the start of our exploration into 3D design, and based on what we've seen so far, we're excited about the potential of these young minds. Their creations are a testament to their talent and dedication, and we can't wait to see what they'll design tomorrow!

Whistle

Today, students Jacqueline, Kasey, Ashley, and Samantha successfully completed their whistle design project, outdoing their performance from yesterday. Jacqueline stood out with superior independence, requiring minimal assistance.

The entire group demonstrated commendable focus and efficiency, applying their skills to successfully design a functional whistle. Their hard work and dedication were clearly evident in their final product. Importantly, they gained a thorough understanding of the physics principles behind a whistle's operation, a knowledge that will benefit them in future projects.

This session marked their last day, and their enthusiasm for learning and dedication to the project will be greatly missed. It's been a privilege guiding them through this journey and witnessing their growth and development. Their accomplishments in this project are a testament to their potential for future success.
